About Us
The Johnston Firm was founded in 1998 by Attorney Rachel Johnston. Ms. Johnston received her Juris Doctorate from Seattle University School of Law and received her Bachelor of Science degree from Tennessee State University in Nashville. She has limited her practice to Entertainment and Family Law.
Ms. Johnston has practiced law for 12 years in the Seattle area. She is now licensed to practice law in the state of New York. She is passionate about music and film. She is currently an active member of the Recording Academy-Pacific Northwest Chapter (Grammys) and Women In Film-Seattle Chapter.
Ms. Johnston has traveled to Los Angeles, New York and Houston to attend major music and film seminars. She has attended many music summits held by the Recording Academy (Grammy) and other music entities. She attended the 2008 50th Anniversary of the Grammy Awards, which was held in Los Angeles. Ms.Johnston has gained insight into the practical aspects of the film industry. She attended a class on how to make a video movie, which was taught by a well known local director. Recently, she attended an intensive class on how to audition before the camera, which was taught by one of the top casting directors in Seattle. Ms. Johnston has aso volunteered as a production assistant on the set of a local film. She is very knowledgeable of the evolving trends of the music business and has established relationships and numerous contacts within the Los Angeles, New York, Houston and Atlanta entertainment industries.
Since 1998, Ms. Johnston has aggressively represented hundreds of clients who have needed assistance in family law matters such as divorce, legal separation, child support, parenting modifications, and child relocation matters.
Ms. Johnston is a current member of the following organizations: President of the American Legion Auxiliary, Unit 79, member of Harley Davidson Owner's Group and Ladies of Harley Davidson -Seattle, member of Washington State Bar, Washington State Association for Justice, Family Law Section of the Washington State Bar Association, Recording Academy and Women in Film.
